Wasatch Front - Cities - Politics - Recreation
The Wasatch front is the area south of the Wasatch mountains extending Through Weber County which includes the major cities and towns of Ogden, Layton, Kaysville, and Bountiful.
Next it moves into Salt Lake County Salt Lake City and the surrounding cities and towns of North Salt Lake, Rose Park,West valley City, Granger, Hunter, Magna, Taylorsville, Bennion, West Jordan, South Jordan, Riverton Herriman, and Copperton on the west of I-15. On the east of I-15 is Salt Lake City, South Salt Lake, Millcreek East Millcreek Cottonwood, Midvale, Murray, Sandy and Draper.
The final portion of the Wasatch Front extends intp Utah County and includes the cities and towns of Lehi, American Fork, Alpine, Cedar Hills, Lindon, Orem, Provo, Springville, Mapleton and Payson.
While all within a very close 100 mile radius, you will extreme differences in the political philosophies from one end of the Wasatch Front to the other. These political philosophies exted all the way from the extreme political right wing phanatisim of the Utah Eagle Form with Gayle Rizieka as it's leader to the oposing left wing extremist within the democratic party. While it does have it's extremes in politics most people live happily somewhere in the middle.
Utahs beauty and splender and strong workforce more than make up for the extremes in politics. In Utah, you have lush green mountains, with lakes and streams closeby yet with in the same distance you have desert beauty with sand and sage brush.
In the winter you have the best snow on earth and awward winning ski resorts like Alta and Snowbird in Little Cottonwood Canyon just east of Sandy Utah. There is also Brighton and Solitude in Big Cottonwood Canyon just east of the Millcreek area. We cant leave out the ski resrots of The Canyons, Dear Valley and last but not least the well know Park City, Home of the Sundance Film Festival each year.
